Change Column Type in Pandas

To change the column type in a pandas DataFrame, you can use the astype() method. Here's how you can do it:

import pandas as pd

# Sample DataFrame
data = {'A': [1, 2, 3], 'B': [4.0, 5.0, 6.0]}
df = pd.DataFrame(data)

# Original DataFrame
print("Original DataFrame:")
print(df)

# Change column type of column 'A' to float
df['A'] = df['A'].astype(float)

# Updated DataFrame
print("\\nDataFrame with column 'A' converted to float:")
print(df)

In this example, we change the column type of column 'A' to float using the astype() method. You can specify the desired data type as an argument to astype(). In this case, we convert 'A' to float.

You can also convert columns to other types, such as int, str, datetime, etc., by specifying the appropriate data type in the astype() method.
